DTS Distributed Temperature Sensing Module
The VIAVI T-BERD/MTS- 6000 DTS system is the industry’s first singlemode DTS (Distributed Temperature Sensing) interrogator that is ruggedized for use in the field. It is the perfect instrument for field-based temperature measurement because to its distinctive, portable, battery-powered form factor. Raman scattering technique is the foundation of this singlemode DTS. With the integrated conventional dual wavelength Rayleigh OTDR, you may measure the temperature along a singlemode optical fiber cable or signal loss. Without the need for two specialist OTDR devices, perform optical fiber cable attenuation analysis for bend identification and fiber integrity monitoring (Patent pending).
This Raman OTDR module may be put on a rack-mounted platform (OTU-8000) for ongoing monitoring using the widely used fiber monitoring system ONMSi, or it can be set up on a portable VIAVI platform (T-BERD/MTS-6000,8000) for brief measurement sessions.
