LGX Box with One 1625 nm Bypass Module (SC/APC)
Features
The 1625 nm Bypass Module (SC/APC) is a passive optical device designed to safely enable in-service OTDR fiber monitoring without disrupting live traffic. It reroutes the 1625 nm monitoring wavelength—commonly used for OTDR-based diagnostics—around sensitive active components such as splitters, amplifiers, or ONUs, protecting them from signal interference or potential damage. Housed in a standard LGX module, the bypass unit maintains excellent optical performance with low insertion loss and high isolation, ensuring reliable monitoring access in GPON, XGS-PON, RFoG, and other FTTx networks.
Key Features
- Bypasses active components during OTDR testing at 1625 nm
- Protects ONUs, amplifiers, and splitters from OTDR test signals
- Supports pass-through for standard wavelengths (1310/1490/1550 nm)
- High isolation between 1625 nm and live traffic
- Low insertion loss for minimal impact on live signals
- Fully passive – no power required
- Housed in a standard LGX module, compatible with 19″ racks
Applications
- In-service OTDR fiber monitoring
- Passive Optical Network (PON) deployments
- Protection of ONUs, amplifiers, or splitters during testing
